Big Daddy's Sit 'Em / Start 'Em Fantasy Football Week 9

Sit 'Em

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Buffalo Bills

No team has been better at controlling and stopping opposing quarterbacks than the New York Jets. They happen to be Fitzpatrick's opponent this week, which doesn't bode well for the Bills passing game. Against good passing defenses, such as the Eagles and Bengals, Fitzpatrick has struggled. Avoid Fitz at all costs.

Brandon Marshall, WR, Dolphins

Last week Marshall had arguably his worst performance of the year. He caught four passes for just 55 yards - despite facing the NFL's No. 13 ranked pass defense of the G-Men. This week Miami travels to Kansas City, and they possess the No. 20 ranked pass defense.  Sure, it may look like Marshall should have a good game, but until he's proven to get you a respectable number of points, keep him on the bench because the Chiefs are on fire right now.

Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

While Mendenhall has slowly but surely gotten his running game back on track, he has such a touch matchup ahead of him this week that he's nothing more than a must-sit.  The Baltimore Ravens and their top-five run defense come to town and will likely look to repeat the formula that stymied the Steelers running game in Week 1.  That's when Mendenhall was held to just 45 yards on 12 carries.

Tebow, QB, Denver Broncos

"Tebowing" became a one week wonder after Denver was dismantled by Detroit's surging squad. This week he squares off against a solid Oakland team that is also a contender, and I expect him to get torn up again. Now it's not all him, the offensive line isn't doing their part either.  Look for Tebow to throw for around 125 yards with more interceptions than touchdowns.

Start 'Em

Reggie Bush, RB, Miami Dolphins

Bush had by far his best game of the season on the ground in last week's loss to the New York Giants, topping 100 yards rushing for the first time since his rookie year.  He gained an impressive 6.9 yards a carry.  Bush could be a very viable fantasy option against the Kansas City Chiefs, who have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing ball-carriers.

Dallas Defense

The Cowboys looked overmatched Sunday night in their blowout loss to Philadelphia, but don't worry, Dallas defense owners, you can start them this week.

Why? They're playing the Seahawks!

Seattle averages 283 yards of total offense per game, including a woeful 78 yards per game on the ground. Dallas' solid front is licking its chops, and you can count on them to effectively shut down the running game of the Seahawks

Brandon Lloyd, WR, St. Louis Rams

It hasn't taken Lloyd long to become acclimated to his new digs.  He's hauled in 12 catches for 127 yards in his two games in the Gateway City, including his first touchdown as a member of the Rams in last Sunday's upset of the Saints.
Regardless of whether it's Sam Bradford or A.J. Feeley under center when the Rams face Arizona, Lloyd should have a solid outing.  The Cardinals have surrendered the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers.

Brent Celek, TE, Philadelphia Eagles

He has been invisible most of the season in the Eagles offense, but that wasn't the case in last week's blowout win over the Cowboys.  Celek had seven receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown.

He may well make it two big games in a row this week against the Chicago Bears, who have loads of trouble covering tight ends and are far and away the friendliest fantasy matchup in the NFL for opposing tight ends.
