The trend of wasting time on the Internet while on the job is reaching unbelievable levels as this study shows "Between 60 and 80 percent of people's time on the Internet at work has nothing to do with work."

Tulane Business Professor Mark Rosa says it's a huge loss of productivity for American companies, but on the other hand "How much (productivity) have we gained with the Internet?"
And he says it's more likely now that work and play actually overlap. He says that cyberloafing might even have benefits, as "They run across sites that might come back to aid the business." That Rosa says is in contrast to someone sitting in the employee lounge watching a soap opera, which in no way can help the business down the line.
The study shows cyberloafing is common in all age groups, with younger workers spending time on social media while older employees are managing their finances.
